Ex marine and bad boy, Mark Moretti, made a pact with his childhood friends to live life to the fullest and never allow a woman to tie him down. After years of success and the world at his feet, he is determined to make that pact a reality. A move back to his beloved Los Angeles threatens to change the future he had written for himself when the shy and beautiful, Sophie Barringer, ends up being the Maid of Honor at his sister’s wedding.
Sophie has been burned at love. The last thing she needs is a self proclaimed bachelor to turn her head. But her heart may have other plans.
Forced to spend a week together in paradise, can they deny their steamy chemistry and stay away from each other or will they give in to lust and take the chance? Can Mark get over his player reputation to take a shot at love or will fate be cruel enough to deny them their happily ever after?
After receiving The second book in the Moretti novels for review and reading the blurb then seeing this promo pic, I just had to start at the beginning and brought the first book!
So I thought I would review them both, but I can tell you now I will be reading the 3rd book which is out in November!!!
Let’s meet the Moretti Men…..How would you not want to get stuck into these books?

The book had me at the cover and yes I’ve stalked him for you, his name is Alex Turner or Mark Moretti in the book. You would have thought by now I would have had enough about reading about naughty hot bad boys but NO! I mean look at this man! lol
Mark Moretti is a ex-marine, bad boy bachelor with a fabulous set of hottie male friends, they all have a very strong friendship and you see this throughout the book. Mark lives his life like he wants and it includes sleeping with anyone, he said he will never change…….. But everything did change, after a brief encounter at a supermarket with the shy and beautiful Sophie Barringer who’s turns out the Maid of Honor at his sister’s wedding.
The story flowed but was a bit of a slow starter but lots of teasing and tension and abundant in sex scenes. I did have huge issues with Sophie’s Sister and this is a bit of a spoiler sorry , but I could do a huge rant on this part of the book but would give away to much! I hated the whole behind Sophie’s back thing and then getting ring and then she just invites herself to live with them! I mean really like that would ever happen! That being said I did enjoy the book and I loved getting to know the characters.
Ryan West learned at an early age that forever is never promised. Deciding to live each moment to the fullest, Ryan spends his days as a personal trainer to the rich and famous and his nights in the arms of a vast array of women. As a playboy, his motto is to work hard but play even harder. When his best friend introduces him to his attractive and soon to be sister in law, Ryan doesn’t think twice about throwing caution to the wind and bedding the woman that should be off limits. The sparks that ignite between them are undeniable and he struggles to push her memory from his mind.
Knowing happily ever after only happens in fairytales, Layla Barringer has lived her life with a wild streak of her own. Moving to Los Angeles to be closer to her sister, her rebellion is put to the test during a chance encounter with Ryan. Knowing about his revolving door of women, she decides to enjoy one night with no strings attached.
When personal tragedy strikes, they are left with only two options. Aware of their growing attraction to each other, will they work together and face adversity head on or will fear and heartbreak send them running in opposite directions?

For me Ryan and Layla’s story way surpassed the first book, I fell for Ryan big time! (and not just because he was a tattooed hottie)
Ryan’s back story was so sad and so well written that I was totally living in the book, I laughed with them , shouted at them and even cried with them and I cried a lot which I don’t do often over books! Loved how Ryan and Layla tried so hard to just keep it a casual thing yet they were both desperate for each other and falling quickly into love. I really warmed to Layla in this book she comes across much better in taming the playboy than the first book where I actually wanted to slap her! But I grew to really like her character was nice to have a a female main character that wasn’t a soppy thing, Layla was fiery and feisty and covered in tattoos and completely adored Ryan. I Don’t want to give to much away but the whole friends bond and their support for each other was awesome, Ryan is a really easy character to fall for and when he made his discussion to stop trying, well I was a broken mess!
The book had lots going on but was easy to keep up with all the events. Liked how Mark and Sophie’s story carries on in this book hoping Ryan and Layla’s will also continue in the next book, Caleb’s book, hoping Kevin will still be playing a part too.
These books are a must read. x
I am Sooooo looking forward to Caleb’s story!
