The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Daniel Diehl.

Jason and Merlin are back and boy are they in for a whirlwind adventure………..again!

Just when we think these two unlikely friends have faced the worst things you could imagine, Morgana LaFay rears her ugly head yet again! Except she has revenge on her mind and will stop at nothing to achieve it.

Merlin is one touch old cookie and in this instalment the poor man is put through the wringer. Saying that, Jason has his fair share if trouble in this book too. I like the fact that Beverley has a bigger part to play, she finally gets to see a bit of action, although she probably regrets it at points.

The story keeps you on your toes throughout the whole story. From Jason and Beverley searching what felt like the whole of Central Africa looking for a legendary gem that could be the answers to theirs, if not the worlds, prayers. To Merlin having the bravery of a lion to face Morgana and her minions alone, but we know Merlin can look after himself and kick ass!

There’s twists and turns galore and just when you think you know where the story is going, Daniel, throws a spanner into the story and turns you 360! You’re pulled from pillar to post but it keeps you turning those pages, even when you tell yourself it’s the last page 🙂

I’m hoping there’s more to come from Merlin, Jason and Beverley………. You know I will be asking very soon Daniel!
