I found the story to be very heartwarming. We have all had to deal with personal struggle and loss and the way the characters handle it in this story is very poignant. Being able to see tragedy through a child’s perspective is very rendering. I felt that the characters were well developed and overall enjoyed the book. ~Crystal~
As much as I liked this book, I had a difficult time getting into the story.
I’m not sure if I just wasn’t connecting with the characters,(Lots of the characters names beginning in M … Marie, Meg, Mo, Mike, Mary ) or the plot, or the writing style itself, but I must admit that it took me a while to warm up to the book. Having said that, I still think it’s got a lot going for it as seeing things through a child’s view was different.
It’s definitely a book that’s worth checking out, even if it takes awhile to get into. ~Rachel~
